Jakala Garba has a background in public health and community health education. Jakala served as a health educator for county heath departments in the Chicago and St. Louis metro areas, where she was awarded the Hope Light Excellence award for outstanding public health performance. She specializes in program planning, implementation and evaluation. Jakala has over 5 years of experience in planning, creating and launching targeted digital and social media campaigns.

As the College Ambassador Program Manager, Jakala continues to explore her two greatest passions: health and education. She hopes to continue to contribute to the field of public health by working with current college to students to provide relevant and necessary outreach to women of color in underserved communities around the country.
